Granada is a charming colonial town on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. Stroll through the streets enjoying cafe's and bars, or the more adventurous can paddle a kayak around the 365 islets just outside town.

Mombacho Volcano dominates the horizon of nearby Granada, and after a short drive, you'll leave the plains bordering Lake Nicaragua and drive up the slopes of the imposing Mombacho cloaked in coffee plantations and dense rainforest and cloud forest. Listen for howler monkeys as you hike through the jungle.  

Ometepe Island is literally two nearly-twin volcanoes that rise out of the depths of Lake Nicaragua to form a tropical paradise that we explore on foot and bike.  

San Juan del Sur is the quintessential laid-back beach town on the Pacific coast, and it may just be the perfect way to top-off the last couple of days of your trip to Nicaragua.
